'Love is just the antidotenothing else can cure methere are times I cant decidewhen i can't tell up from downyou make me feel less crazy, otherwise i'd drownbut you pick me up and brush me off and tell me i'm okayand sometimes that's just what we need to get us through the day'

The rather disapointing gingerbread house event

So it was the big gingerbread event today, rather a let down so we just dipped the crackers in the tub of icing and diped that in the sprinkles fun times soon followed as the sugar hit, big time, note to self icing can make great lipstick, just watch out for friends that share the weather and not the news! hehe

Last Day of Class......FOREVER

I can't beleive that today has arrived, my last day of class for my undergrad. That's it there is no more, all that is left. Wow, it's snowing out and is that really crisp cold out where you can feel your cheeks get red as soon as you start walking. I had to walk up the hill today to pick somthing up, must becareful, almost fell on my way back down. That packed down snow can be very scary.

First Snow

Today was the First snow followed by rain followed by snow

Got home to find Fridge wasn't work, lucky me nothing was lost

not a very good mood at all

Cheers

:)

Three More Days, and the Stress Continues

That's right, only 3 more days of university classes left for me. I can't say that I'm scared shitless about this fact. Where have the past four years gone, some how I feel cheated of the whole uni life. While I do beleive that life is what you make of it, there still has to be some input or certain elements arround you that you can manipulate. And thus leaves one feeling like they want some of there money back.

On other notes, the return of the dreaded cousins, just call me Cyclops, it's a freakin' third eye!

Went to the Xmas parade with Gimpy, Gangly, and P. It was a lot of fun, highlights inclue Gimpy hugging a gigantic Tim's mug, mmmm how great would that be, to have some Tim's double double first thing waiting for you in the morning to hug. I can only wish. Other highlights include the free candy canes yummm, and well just seeing all the people out and about watching and waiting for Santa. It was rather cold I must say. Yet there still isn't any snow, which is fine by me, it is allowed to snow here in Montreal after the 18th and I have arrived safe and sound at home, and not caught in Quebec City in a snow storm at the Normandine Resturant in Levis. Its not fun, been there done that. I don't think I've ever prayed so hard in that car ride home. People if I have once piece of advice it is the following, Crap weather outside, it's not worth the drive, stay safe and sound and warm at home. Let it Pass.

And on that note I am going to try and get to bed at a reasonable hour! Yeaa ok ok I know 1 30 is a bit late, but it's better than my 3am-er's of late.

Wobbly Bits

Oh what a fun day Lil S and I had today! Dispite the rain and the killer walk, done in under 26 minutes from McGill to the bank/Dollar Store then to the Fourm to see Bridget. Oh it was really good, funny and had a happy ending, just what was needed. Then walked back through the seedy part of Ste Cats to the Eaton Center and went to Old Navy got a killer deal on a jacket for the spring and 4 tank tops for all under 25$!! Then went to the Second Cup, got the Candy Cane Hot chocolate and Gimpster got the Candy Cane Late, if you are going to get it one piece of advice, stir it. Finally making it up McGill College soaking wet and a bit cold (looking very bridget) got on the shuttle bus and came back!
Good times Good Times
Oh and we made the most of our 10$ spent on using nice clean bathrooms so very nice

The Power of a Great Advertisment, or Just somthing weird about me

Do you? Just a thought for the night, how many people out there really do eat the red ones last? I know that I do, I have to line them up like show and then I eat which ever has the most of a certain color until i have all equal amounts of the colors (except red). It also is interesting to note why we eat the red ones last, all because of advertisement. Truth be told I prefer M&Ms.

Maximum Stress

That's it I've reached my limit for the year, I just hate spelling, I absolutly hate it, this is when you go what were you thinking Mida?? Well I obviously wasn't!! Had a nice visit with Gangly went out to Dunndees with the Gimpster and Gangly, learned a little chinois for real?.......or not hahaha, the poor waitress, I must say we weren't on our best behaviour, but we had fun, none the less ;)

Went to the Ceilidh on Thursday for ladies night, who am I kidding I went for the 2 free drinks. Gah only could get a girly drink or ex/dry.

Talked with the parental units tonight, must remember not to talk about the future too much with them, it just looks bleak-er.

Talked with my godson tonight too cute, his sister told him, "Say Hi, (Insert my godson's name)" and he says in the phone "HI (insert my godson's)" hehehe but then he tried again and got it right, "HI MIDA" hehe too cute. He's only 2. And of course one of the cutest kids I know (mind you I am partial)

Ok that is a quick little update. Also want to wish the blog a Happy Birthday, about a year ago I started this.

Oh so much fun

I'm going to try and roll into bed

What a handful of cereal can do for the soul

Ohhhh doesn't that sound deep eh? What I mean by it, is that the Gimpster aka Butch stoped by last night with such a treat Finding Nemo Cereal. Which was very exciting, for not only were there sugar coated stars of somthing healthy I'm going to guess oats and marshmellows shaped like your favorite characters, which led us to recall our favorite moments of the movie, however we were a bit rusty as Butch mentions in her blog, from such great lines as "You made me Ink" and "Oh and one more thing: when you come to this trench, swim through it, not over it" and "Maybe he only speaks "whale" which led us to re enacting certain parts of the movie with the marshmellows hehehe ahhh good times. "I shall call him squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my squishy Come on, squishy Come on, little squishy" and remember this above all "Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim." For more quotes you can check this out, think of it as a refresher. Ahhh such a good movie, don't ya think?

Happy Weekend

Well, happy weekend my "5" readers :p Franchment eh. ahh Well, was supposed to go out for Brunch downtown today, but it got canceled. So I went into Ste Anne's for breakfast at au Bout d'ille. I love the omellets there, they are HUDGE, got the western one, with ham, onions, green peppers and tomatos along with toast, fevres au lard, fruit and hash browns. And all with coffee to wash it down, was very pleasent i was able to read my book, Anna Karenina, of which I love saying the title, it just rolls off of your tounge. Then after that I went to TWIGS as a smoker started poullting the air, and I had more coffee on the comphy couch and saw all these kids in their coustumes, too cute. There was a little fair going on in town, they had a petting Zoo with Lamas and goats and weird looking geese, but they also had this Adpot a pet thing, with all these cute dogs, cats, kittens and puppys. I almost took one home with me, a basset hound puppy, sooo cute, and his eyes, how could you not love him?? I will just have to do with Babar for now, :) until I can get a real pet.

Ok work for the rest of the weekend, somtimes it has to be good to have a change a plans. At least I hope so

This is the year my friends, those what 4 of you that read this? This is the year I can feel it, Tonight the Soxs won game 3 4-1, and I still can't sleep so it's time for an update.
Midterm time of year as always taking up most of my spare time, but this Thursday night in the CC ballroom, oui oui c'est la grande fete pour l"halloween, et volia c'est tout pour mon horrible francais ce soir. Its the be there or be squre (root) sorta thing. This year and my final year, I will be going as a Hula girl ( grass skirt is really cool) with Alli. Other than that nothing else is new, S has gone back home to bring home the Eggs and Bacon har de har har, ohhh all of the possible egg jokes, and lil S has gone home for the weekend, and I was here left with my books of language and the Red Soxs.

Earplugs

In all honesty I don't know how I made it through 3 years in Larid with out them, they are great! I think that everyone moving into a res in Uni should be given a new pair every year, think of all the noises you could block out. Also I am very much enjoying the new windows that were installed this summer, I can only slightly hear the drunken "yeeeee haws" of the drunkards at the Ceilidh.
Aside from that just when you thought you had the ball of string all wraped up and ready to go, it starts to become undone, undone an interesting word.
Another thing parents, yea sure they raise you and support you and do all that stuff like feed and shelter you, but there must be some part in them that just loves to torment you, make you suffer to the point where even if you were on the other side of the world it would be just as bad as if you were right next to them. I mean who on the night before a midterm wants to have the whole can of worms that is the numero uno problemo in their life opened up again, I mean it took a long time to even close it some what the first time, but the WHAM here we go again. Thanks, thanks a whole lot.

In other matters went to Octoberfest today with Lil S mmmmm Saureakreaut and all the yummy bacteria that help ferment it......mmmmm and all it is, is shredded cabbage and salt, thats it, I find it so amazing at how our world works...especially food wise.
Ok going to try and get some sleep, tomorrows Friday TGIF baby

Downtown

The lights are must brighter there, you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and go dooooowntown, Downtown, sing with me now, hehe I am in the computer lab downtown, and how funny would it be for me to break out in to song, and the whole lab was to join in. People jumping up on the tables dancing, hehehe

Man is it ever hot in here, they need to think of some ventilation, also there should be a ban on certain perfumes, I don't care how expensive they were, they STINK

Was food for thought last night, really interesting err then again, we got there too late for any snacks, but S Lil S and I all got a juicebox, which was a mix, but had that great fake grape juice taste from when you were a kid.

We will just have to go earlier next time

Ok enough said, back to real work, I am actually going to go to my class today, ahh yea

Whets the Point

Here I am, in the Library, all set to study and get caught up, this weekend was going to be all about getting caught up. Unfortunately that didn't happen. Saturday complete write off, was so exhausted, having problems sleeping (greaaat). Then I was going to go to the library at 2 and just work through, but I had a call from home there was an hour and some gone. So here I am around 5, I can't focus, and the reading just doesn't go in, and so here I now sit updating this blog, I am thinking of getting a little cam, might be fun or not, a miracle happened, will not have to stay in this city too long in Dec, yeaaaaaa
Ok must force myself to work,

How Time Flies

Just another amazing thing that just makes me thing, where has the time flown, listening to the radio and Born Slippery - Underworld came on, can you beleive that it was 8 years ago! I loved Trainspotting, I can remember renting it in High School with my friend Katie, it looked werid but we thought we would see what it was like, and I think that was the turing point for me loving strange movies. But still EIGHT years ago, yikes.

Last night, got back into the study groove, oh more so warmed up my butt groove in the library and computer lab. Thats right worked a whole 5 hours, yes yes, pat on the back, now I am only about 1/2 behind every thing!

Yesterday was No Car day or somthing like that, so a section of St Cats was tied off, and there was basically a big street party going on, street performers, people walking arround it was great, got some free stuff, very nice indeed.

time to get the day started

Exciting Chocolate News

mmm chocolate, how exciting is this, there is nothing worse than the fat bloom, I mean ok the chocolate can still be consumed, but it doesn't look that great, this could be a big help.

Monday, September 20, 2004

Ohh I want one of these

I could go for one of these, we used to leave Moosehead for Santa cuz a Moose was close enough to a reindeer, and it figures that most of it turns up near Woodstock, *shakes head* and a month after this was stolen, I recall hearing that a trailer of detained beef was stolen from Centreville ahh life in the sticks with the hicks lol

Sunday, September 19, 2004

How exciting

Yup, here I am, wanted to get up early this morning, to get some much needed studying in, so I could go to church, however as is always my good luck, last night ohh arround 1:30, (mind you I went to bed at 11 30) a whole gaggle of, I think drunk, French guys come running arround my floor, running up and down the stairs.

Oh you gotta love those drunken antics some people have *sigh* lol

Anyway enough of my complaining, yea yea I know I live in rez, it could be worse, so I got up a bit late today arround 8, and since it takes about an hour for me to wake up proper, am now just functioning, getting my spelling down (Hephaestus, pretty good), and I am listening to the radio online, when the new Robbie Williams song came on, its called Radio, I actually really like it, very different from the rest of his stuff, there is most def, an 80's influence, you can check it out here if you want, go to the Music section, and then its on the Greatest Hits album, which is coming out October 18th (hopefully here too....hope my brothers are reading this...mmm great Xmas present there boys ;) )

Ok well that is all for now
Over and out

How Bizare

Just killing time in between classes, when i read this the poor family

Wednesday, September 15, 2004

And they're off...

Yup, its about to occur, you couldn't really avoid it, they are there lurking in the back of your mind, as is the thought, I should be studying just a bit more, that's right mid terms. I just can't beleive that I am having my first on this Monday.

Moving on today was the Food Science BBQ, was very good, stayed for about 2 hours talking, a first.

I have come up with a new game to play while downtown (and really in any city) you must be in a large grassy area (paved it ok, if its all there is) and you require 2 goals, 2 teams, the rules from soccer, but not a soccer ball, but PIGEONS, that's right how much fun would it be kicking those dam pests arround! How did I come up with this? Well while I was sitting on the lawn at school on the main campus of McGill I should say, minding my own business, I reach down to pick up my cup of tea, and there is a bloody Pigeon right next to me, I just wanted to kick it out of the way and volia a new game.

And for all of you animal lovers out there, come on there are millions of them in the city, ok ok how about you can't have spikes on your cleats?

Friday, September 10, 2004

Tired, Hungry, and really whats the point?

Seriously, is there a point, I think it's time, I really sit back and look at where things are headed, I don't think I really like it, I feel like I am behind the wheel but the breaks are going, and I am out of control.

Monday, September 06, 2004

Back to School

Well then, it's that time of year again, that's right back to school, for many people, or for those of us "fortunate" McGill students we have been back since the first.
I have mostly classes downtown this year, which will be interesting, I think I am going to like it, mind you I have to make the comute everyday, thankfully just for one semester, and then I have my research project, don't know what it is yet.Only time will tell.
Back in the same room in LH so those of you who want to stop by for a visit, the kettle is always on (my don't i sound very maritime -er -ie, wait I am)

As for the big C here on Thursday night, well it was DEAD, we were thinking that it being the first it would be packed, went with A and we ended up watching telly, I think it was the family guy and then classic spiderman, I mean who doesn't like spiderman??

Moving on, for my faithful readers I shall try and be better with my updates, it just seemed hard to do this summer, just couldn't be bothered!

ta for now

Kill Bill Volume 1

Ok so I just saw this movie, finally I might add, but now I just found out that there wont be a long wait for the second half of the movie, as it will be out on Tuesday!
I enjoyed the movie, but at some point, oh I dont know when all the limbs are flying arround you have to ask yourself, what is going on in QT's head? He is all over the place, and having just watched the 7th samuri, it was well interesting, especially the musical selection.

Other than that nothing else is new....nothing to update or report, saw the Village, and will not go into the woods alone but I am very proud of myself, and with out giving anything away, caught on way before we find out anything, if you are freakish like me you can pick out what I mean in like the first 10 min of the movie and that is all I am saying

Anyone else seen a good summer movie? This summer there just dont seem to be as many, well at least here in the sticks of NB

Site Meter and Cry, more so not crying

Ok so this site meter is starting to bother me, just becuase I am nosey and I want to know who is looking at my site, lol I figure it's mostly me checking to see what number the dam thing is at only to have it go up another 2.

Went to see the Notebook tonight in Woodstock. It was filled, with lots of white haired old ladies and twenty somthings and there in between, there were only 5 men, yes we counted, to pass the time, and I had been told, bring klenex, and me Miss Crying Queen for everything, didn't shed a tear, I didn't even get misty eyed. I knew I should be goodness everyone arround me was, and I really liked the movie, Ryan Gossling was great, a different role from Sean and Breaker High and the Young Hurc on Fox, but still, to which when I told someone that I didn't cry, that oh well you must just be dead inside like Chandler from friends.

Which made me think, why is it that we all have to cry or laugh or what ever at a movie, I mean there are soo many out there, so many different types, it isn't wrong to like different ones, I mean how boring would that be?

New Look, Fresh Start?

Thought that the ole blue and white scale backround needed an update, and since there isn't much I can do to change things around here, might as well change things here, bare with me this is still a work in progress, next step is getting pictures up....might take a bit of time

Readings

I have just had a thought to add a little section here of current books that I am reading or have read.
I just finished Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
by Gregory Maguire. I really enjoyed it as I have his other books, you get to look at the other side of the story of some of the most belved books out there.

I am also about to read Ana Karenina by Leo Tolstoy we will see how that goes. I don;t get too much time to read over the summer due to work and "family" things that I have to go to, but I shall keep this updated as much as possible

Coffee and Me

I have a new friend and I don't want to think of what life would be with out it. My cupa Java, try as I may to ignore it last year at school, it has snuck back into my life, now that my brother and I have our cup in the am, but he is now away at camp so it's just me. Mmm dark roast, flavor enhanced, any kind that's a good kind, can't stand instant or that crap at work they call Coffee.
mmmmmm

Wicked - "Defying Gravity" music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz

ELPHABA
I know
But I don't want it - No!
I can't want it anymore

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by
The rules of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes
And leap...

It's time to try Defying Gravity
I think I'll try Defying Gravity
And you can't pull me down

GLINDA
Can't I make you understand
You're having delusions of grandeur?

ELPHABA
I'm through accepting limits
Cuz someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change
But till I try I'll never know
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love I guess I've Iost
Well if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost

I'd sooner buy Defying Gravity
Kiss me goodbye, I'm Defying Gravity
And you can't pull me down!

Glinda, come with me. Think of what we could do - together!

Unlimited
Together we're Unlimited
Together we'll be the greatest team
There's ever been - Glinda!
Dreams the way we pl d 'em

GLINDA
If we work in tandem

GLINDA & ELPHABA
There's no fight we cannot win
Just you and I, Defying Gravity
With you and I Defying Gravity

ELPHABA
They'll never bring us down!

Well, are you coming?

(GLINDA decides to stay behind.)

GLINDA
I hope you're happy
I hope your happy now that your choosing this -

ELPHABA
You too--
I hope it brings you bliss

GLINDA & ELPHABA
I really hope you get it
And you don't live to regret it
I hope you're happy in the end
I hope you're happy my friend

ELPHABA
So if you care to find me
Look to the Western sky!
As someone told me lately
Everyone deserves the chance to fly
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who ground me
Take a message back from me!

Tell them how I am Defying Gravity
I'm flying high, Defying Gravity
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No Wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring Me Down!!

GLINDA
I hope you're happy

CITIZENS OF OZ
Look at her
She's Wicked
Get her!!

ELPHABA
Bring me down!

CITIZENS OF OZ
No One Mourns The Wicked
So we got to bring her -

ELPHABA
AHHHH!

CITIZENS OF OZ
--DOWN!

Wonder Why?

No not the TV show
But do you ever wonder why, I mean the type of wondering where you are just left there standing, throw your arms up, questioning, Why?

Do you ever wish you could just get up and leave everything behind you? Not have to worry about one thing or another? Just go where ever the wind takes you, carefree from the whys.

Do you ever wish you could go back and see if knowing what you now know would change the situation? Or would it all just play out the same and not like Groundhog's Day. Would you want it to change, for if there was this change then other moments would change or just not happen.

Do you ever get that feeling in the pit of your stomach that you just want to ball up and throw away? And no matter how you try it just doesn't go away.

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to fly, and no not in a plane. Or that feeling of weightlessness rarely experienced?

Why wonder, when nothing ever happens?

Euro 2004

Great news today the Netherlands have made it through to the next round beating Sweden. What a great game. I have become a workaholic this past week and not really by choice. Science takes time and takes time from your non existent life. I might as well just have a cot at work to sleep there.

About sleeping how great would it be to have a siesta? I really think they are on to somthing there.

Today was the big McCain Family bbq, felt old and odd seeing people I went to HS with there with their spouse and their 2 kids,

Other than that nothing is going on here, I really wish I could go somewhere warm and sunny for a vacation just a week at least that has tons of historic neat things and such just to absorb it all and none of this strange wether that we have been having here in NB

One good thing about not being outside is that I get to avoid all the black flies and such

So there I was, sitting with my blueberry orange smoothie in one hand, a vorrtmann no Trans cookie in the other, egerly waiting for the Alais season finale, when what do I see but another stupid American Idol program about the show itself, enough of the spin off things, Fox has enough to show, now I have to wait till 10 to watch it, gerrr arggg

Cover Up??

Now whats going on in the city of lights. For all of you out there who read Dan Brown's The Davinci's Code might find this interesting makes one wonder, I swear after reading that book, you see the signs every where!

Also, the numbers on my floor are really getting low, there are only 5 of us left now, I feel so all alone, studying well I might add as well as packing, I think I might have cut the crap down this year. Wont the parental units be pleased.

For all of you back home in la la land, ohhhh are you lucky, mind you I got to talk to G today seems like we are going to be getting new winders on this side of the Crap Hall. About freaking time.

Went to Stereo over the weekend, which is an after hours club thing, meh not really my sorta thing, gosh my knees hurt, I think I might be getting ass ritus as my grandfather likes to call it.

Went to talk to Supervisor today about research project, looks like it is a go, also he ran into some one from home, which just shows what a small world we live in, err not, as the Food Industry is small enough as it is, especially in Canada, but what ever.

Called Bell today to get my phone "suspended" which means I will for once have the same phone number, and will save a whopping $5 on installation. But my service today, OVER the top nice, and chatty too, " oh you're from NB, that's why you sound different, I've a brother there, he loves it there, really nice people" That's right all we people who come from the Maritimes are super nice and have a funny accent. greaat.
I mean dont get me wrong I'd rather have the super nice than the mean, but when they call me Miss Flan, I can't help but laugh, I have been cursed by a difficult name, which really shouldn't be that hard to pronounce.

Right, what I would do for a Guinness right about now, ahhh, God Bless me Da, I know he's got the mini stocked with them waiting for my return.

Cheers

All By Myself

Well it's been over a week since my last update, and I have gotten though 3 major exams, and I am now just waiting for my last one on the 29th. My brain has now gone back to its normal size. It's beautiful out side and I am starving, trying to finish all my food before I go. I think that I might have to break down and actually buy something.
I am thinking of making a donation to the library one day, better chairs, or somthing along that line.
I am going to Stereo this weekend, a little nervous/worried as I don't know too many people, but it sounds fun.
Finally went to Chez Cora's for breakfast...it was nice.
Nothing really too interesting to say,

AHHH I Can't Avoid Noise

I have given up all hope in finding a quite place to study. And ewwww, I am in the library right now in the small computer room, and some one just passed some major gas, it REEKS in here, secondly l came here for some nice quite time to study, it's driving me nuts, but from some where I can hear crazy ass rock music blaring, scary thing was I was able to recognize some of it, I think it was Queens of the Stone Age but I'm not too sure, and I have looked all over the place to find it, but I can't it sounds like it is coming through the walls, I think it might be from the labs that are in the basement.

I just hope this wont continue.

I will do a weekend update later on, I just wanted to warn y'all avoid the computer room in the library when there is a bad smell stays a while, I gotta leave~~

Happy Easter

A very Happy Easter everyone.

In the mist of studying for finals, I have camped out in the library and can be reached there if you need me. It's really nice out today, Lil S and I went to church this am, thank you for letting me go with you. Am not feeling well, that ache and pain you get prior to the flu would best describe my conditions. Drinking lots of tea, green tea thanks to Dawn. Also getting lots of Vit C from my OJ and sweet potatos mmm
Made some excellent brownies a few nights ago, mmm chocolate.
Congrats to Jen for making it through lent sans junk food! Bravo.
Went to the last Ceildh on Thurs. it was DEAD, talked to some, well more so listened to a guy that had the gift of gab, goodness gracious.

Wow I have had >100 visitors here, yea lol wondering how many of them are actually me, lol
Ok I've got to finish laundry and then off to la biblio.

Finals

Good Luck everyone on your finals, I have faith in all of ya!

I made sum interesting dumplings today, but I think I ate a bit too many of them. I can't beleive that there are only 4 more days of classes left, this is my last Winter term here in Montreal, then I'M OUTTA HERE!! mm can you hear the excitment in that caps shout?! I sure hope so because I mean it.

It snowed the other night, snow in April, after it had all gone away, sigh oh well that's what you get for living in Canada, well east coast of Canada.

Found a great radio station online, Radio 1 from the BBC, it's really quite neat because you can pick the show you want to listen to or you can listen to the live show, so if they had a show on while you were asleep but want to listen to it now, well ya can. Neat eh?

Had a fun time at the bday party last weekend, mm speaking of bdays some one's is coming up. That's right I'm talking about you Ms Queen of Falling ;)

Ok Must get some studying done to night, oh another acomplishment, got most of my dishes done round of applause thank you thank you, I couldn't have done it with out my soap, and sponge and towel, oh and the sink, you like me you really like me

Cooking With Mida

That's right, I want to have a cooking show, I think it would be great. I have a catch phrase too, "Flip it and Reverse it" when ever you have to filp somthing thing. hun? hun? Classic, watch out Jamie Oliver, and those other TV Cooks, I'm a coming. And we could have themes, how great would that be and with my Food Science backround, I could have food industry features!!

So Yea, thats that, going DT for a BDAY dinner, should be interesting, I mean fun. ruuuight

Food Science News

I am convinced that we are once again being ignored, what the program needs is not fixing per say but better recruitment, and it's time that they heard us, but we keep getting the deaf ear from the Admin and the dean

The End

Another Chapter has finished in my life, or so to speak. I just saw the final esp. of Sex and the City, I don't care what the critics said, I thought it was a very good ending, we know where each of the characters are going. And yes I did cry, now what am I going to watch on Saturday nights when I want to live through some one else.

I find that I am watching less and less television, and it's frankly odd.

God, I have let my room get far too messy, I think it's time to bring out the mop, or at least, find a mop some where in the melting pot of smells that is Laird, that doesn't smell like spoiled food, or dirty socks.

*sigh* no more SATC nights eating brownies etc. What's a gal to do?

They're bacccck

As I sit here now, I hear that dreaded honking outside my window. That's right the dammed geese are back, with their awful honk honk.

Had Just About Enough

That's it, I can't take it anymore. I mean how lazy can a bunch of people be. Well I think my floor has toped that list. How hard could it be to help out and take the recycling bin to the third floor and empty it in the container there?? I mean you don't even have to take the stairs! TAKE THE ELEVATOR. I've been doing it for the past month. And I'll admit, I stopped, but it's only fair, use the bin? Help empty it. It took me 5 trips in the elevator to empty it. It was DISGUSTING. The cleaning staff is only here to CLEAN, not empty our recycling, Christ the average age on this floor is 24 you'd think you could HELP out and stop being a lazy selfish TWIT.

Step Right Up and Spin the Wheel

Well Well, let us see what has gone on during the past week ici a Montreal. Not too much. Tomorrow night is the Grad Celebration, which should be, no I correct myself, will be fun.
The New Harry Potter Trailer came out yesterday, I now cannot wait for the movie to come out, I am sure I will have plenty of time to re read the book prior to seeing, aww bless their lil cotton socks they are growing up.
This morning when I woke up about 10 min before class, I looked out the window, saw it was gray out, so I decided to wear a sweater with my down vest instead of the winter coat, by the time I made it down all the stairs, to get outside, it had started to rain, I swear that happend on purpose, just so I could get soaked and slip on ice. There I was running to class, passing everyone with an umbrella, honestly why is it everyone here seems to have one in their back pack?? Moral of this, wake up eariler, and not to be late

Can't Sleep

Might as well write in here. Lets see, a lot has happened in the past few days. First off the sad news, Mr. H. McCain died on Friday. Very sad news, he will be greatly missed in the comunity, and the world over I am sure.

I went to a concert at Place-des-Arts for my Art of listening, it was very good. I went with Heidi and her bf. Unfortunalty I was having some sort of allergic reaction to somthing I arte ( I am thinking from the sugar shack), I litereally fell into bed when I got back, only to have my mom call worried about me, and wanted to make sure I got home on time. Feel much better, amzing how a migraine call really drain you. I never want to experience that again.

Poor Schuyler had to get his hair cut. Long story, but I am proud that he did the "grown - up" thing to do. And hey now it wont be in your face when you play soccer!! I'll take ya out when your in Montreal to make up for your lost bud.

Cruger, good news got the job, that is one less big worry on the home front, we are now all employed this summer, phew. What a load off my back to worry about. Now I can start to worry about Flavor Chem.

Got my AOL mark back had to do a double take, I couldn't beleive I did that well, yea me.

Ran into some one I know from back home at the Metro (grocery store, not the subway) and had a nice chat with her. Always fun to surprise people with my visits downtown. I mean yes I go to school in Ste Anne's but I do go into Montreal, not that you've ever visited me here.

ok I should get to bed, am just listening to sap fm as I call my sadish songs, qucik what movie is that from??

Oh My Stomach

sooo full. A lot of fun last night, I pretty much just ate and then fell into bed last night, a lot of laughs, won a prize, Shannon ate some pie,ate sugar and lots of good food. Back to reality, I think I'll just have a cupa tea today. Have to go to a concert tonight for AOL at Places des Arts.

T Minus to Eat Fest 2004

Thats right only 2 more days until the Sugar Shack, I can't wait, lots of great greasy food, mmmmmm maple syrup. Should be really good. Tomorrow is St Patrick's day where every seems to be Irish. And yet I can't help thinking every time I see those Kiss Me I'm Irish pins, that those people can't be of the true blood, cuz as every Guinness loving Irish person knows, we are prone to cold sores or canker sores, so in fact the pin should say, don't kiss me i'm irish. Just somthing to think about.
Is it ever cold out, I was hoping for some nice slightly above freezing temperatures here but no such luck. Mmm appears that I have having some problems typing here so I think it's time I sign off.
Make sure to have a nice big Oatmeal breakfast with a Guinness to wash it down to morrow. For when Irish eyes are smiling etc etc etc

On a side note, wow I have an .org domain name, lol

It's Official...Can't think of a title

Yes for those of you who haven't been here in awhile, I have updated the title of this blog. I just felt it was time for a change, and as this is really just me rambling a long, the title fit. Maxi Padman has a friend up from Ta ra na, as people from outside of the Maritimes seem to think we pronouce it. Should be a fun week. Also sugar shack the 18th and also the 17th is St Paddy's day. I dont think I am going to go, tho. But things might change, I just have gotten used to smoke free envts.
Also this weekend I notice the ever expanding hold Microsoft has on us. Way back in the days of High School, everyone had ICQ, there were never that many problems with it and everything was fine. But on Friday for some reason MSN Msger Would not let us log on, when was it this major change, I mean even first year of uni it was still ICQ but now, BAM there has been this switch. Whats with that??
I still think I need a coffee IV drip, I never thought I would come to depend on my 4 cups, but I do. And I am ok with this.I might update later today I think I shall try and get my ever missing brother on the phone to see how things are at Mt A

Thursday, March 11, 2004

Ahh bless Her Little Cotton Socks

Found this today, so i guess its a good thing that I drink the amount of coffee that I do! Always good to know, and I thought it was just because I have caffein problem. Went grocery shopping today, which means I got eggs which means the brownies are in the future some time, so be on the look out for those, I'm thinking Alias

Testing Testing One Two Three?

The Following is a Test. Please do not adjust your television sets

It's Been Awhile

Since I last sawww youuuuu. Isn't that a song or something? Or has m wee accident caused my brain to be muddled? Yes everyone, I have a problem. It's not too serious but if I'm not careful I could really hurt myself. I am talking of course of my falling/tripping/hitting my head. The latest being a classic running into a wall (mind you it was a corner) and I hit my nose on the corner of the Fire Alarm Pull Station. If only I could have caught it on tape, dang it Ange where were ya when I wanted to capture that magic moment on tape. hehe. But no worries about major swelling, Lil S had frozen peas available, for which I am forever grateful.
Aside from that not too much has happened here in the ole cinderblock that is known as Laird. The snow is almost gone which I am very excited about. Also means that school is almost over, and we get to go home, to my new apartment. Yup supposedly I am getting an apartment for the summer. Mind you it's not too far from my house, it's actually in the basement, but hehe there are lots of windows and lots of space. I'm really excited about it.
Y'all can come visit and I'll make you a cup of esspresso, or tea or coffee or whatever.
Sugar Shack is coming up, March 18, its a Thursday at 5:30 ALL YOU CAN EAT for only 10$ Its a BARGAIN, also BYOB for those interested see Me for tickets if you want to go. I cannot stress how much you can eat, last year I was full until dinner the following day. Crazzy

Mida's Declared today as a SNOW DAY

It is just terrible out there, and I dont think I want to get on that school bus for a stop go ride into Montreal, just for one class when I can listen to the lecture on line. So let it be known today was my snow day to stay in and do work.
Because of this snow day I was able to go to a delishious lunch down at the test kitchen of Casinolini. mmmmm it was really good, some bugs to be worked out, but that's normal I think. Its too bad that the mousse wasn't working, the cone was just as good if you ask me!
The salad and the pasta were very good, as was the bruchetta. The soup well I just kept thinking about Bridget Jones' blue soup, however this one was a purple soup due to the kidney beans. It was different, good, and most likely my protein for the week!

So stay warm all you people out in la la land, I am going to go back to the LING notes

Oh Midterm went well, however I think my crowning moment was falling down the stairs in Leacock 26, on the hard cement in front of >200 people! I was graceful and laughed it off, I now have a lovely bruise that is multi colored, and a nice scrap too. Angela you would have been so proud of me!

We need a Tim Hortons here in Ste Annes why oh why wont they open one? Little cafes are nice, but they can be pricey when all you want is a coffee and a dounut. hrumph

Tuesday, February 03, 2004

One Down One to Go

Yahoo, my Seminar is all done, and it went pretty well I think, and there is still quite a bit of cake left, so come on up an see me on the 5th floor if you want some.
Midterm tonight at 7pm for my Art of Listening. I keep mixing my Vivaldi with Bach, how can this be I know you all must be asking as they are so different.
I really like this class. We are listening to different ones that Vanessa did last year, so I kinda get the best of both, culture wise. I was looking forward to Quant et Moi and As Vespa was from Latmos hill descending. hehe Hey V that should be your try out song for Canadian Idol. Quant et Moi. snicker snicker snicker
Well I should go get ready to head into traffic, ah what a joy it is some times, I just hope the lady from Monday isn't there asking the poor old guy if he was with his wife when she died I mean come on, you just dont talk about that!!!
And she has forever ruined the term "brownies" for me.

Wish me Luck

Oh Good Luck to the Casinolini gals tomorrow with the test kitchen, sorry I'll miss it, tell me all about it

PATS TAKE THE VICTORY at Super Bowl XXXVIII

Ok so I'm not the biggest football fan, but when the Pats play you pay attention. Its the one team that I sorta follow. I do this for most sports, and the teams are all related back to the New England roots. Oh to be in Bean town tonight!! And what a close game, down to the wire, but the boys pulled through for the victory. How sweet it is, and it doesn't hurt to have to look at Tom Brady either ;)
All Star Survivor is on right now, I wanted to watch it but I just have too much stuff to get done! So after this I'm going to bed, only to wake up early and review. Oh and I get to pick my package up at the Post Office, I love getting care packages. This one should have some books in it, goodie, I've run out of things to read that aren't Text books.

Ms. Jew I hope you're having a great week! Enjoy it.
Oh here is a cool site where you can rate your profs, very usefull I think.
Well y'all play safe and have fun at the movies, quick who says that?

Sucks to be Me

I know I know, a la Prozzack song, thats how I feel right now. Could I have picked a worse time to get sick? Well yea probably but I mean come on, it just wasn't fair, that I had to miss my last casino night here at Mac. This just means I'll have to come back for one.
I went downtown today for a review session for AOL, so a long day, 2 hours on the bus total, I am just glad there really isn't any traffic on the weekend. Got to listen to the ta's cool auzzie accent and we listened to some good music. Quite a few people showed up.
How great is it when you leave the LG metro that the bus is waiting there for you and you can get a decent seat? There are few times that this happens so I shall enjoy it.
Other than that, not too much to report. I hear that Maxi Padman's BC made an appearnce at the Casino night, and Ms Tennis To was quite the DJ mixing it up. Silly rabbit trix are for kids, now how unfair is that? Does this mean only children can eat Trix? Mind you I dont care for the stuff but still that is besides the point.

One more thing

For all you out there in la la land, just a little note about somthing Steph found which is just too ironic
while typing in this address thinking it was for my blog:
www.adim.blogpsot.com

Now for those of you who have attended "Sunday School" with Mida shall get a laugh out of this,

TWIGS for dinner

So let me see where to begin. I find it strange that only a month has gone by ( well almost) and I have a mid term on Tuesday as well as my seminar, what a difference from last term being last to go. All I can say is I have a feast prepared, mmmm cake and pizza, you really can't go wrong with that.

Again the evil cold wind was agaisnt the poor student as she walked into Ste Annes for dinner to catch up with an old friend from the begining of uni. It was odd, how much time has passed oh well. The soup I will say this was AMAZING now that I have had "real" food again, I might start *gasp* shall I dare say it, but cook again.

I know I know after doing all those dishes to start again. I have determined that I have enough dished to get me through 2 weeks with out having to wash a plate or well anything. Mind you I did rinse them all well, and stored them under the counter. But I have 14 forks/knives, and by planning my meals well yea. However I had a shit load of washing to do, and that will not be repeated.

I have slaged off on going to the gym this week, as I feel like the worst possible kind of crap, as soon as one thing gets better something else is sick.

Tonight they all went out with out me, which is ok, I hope y'all had fun, did you pick the DIPS up? Casino night, not one of my Favs. Well I'm just not a gambler, I just like hitting the table in black jack and saying hit me, I usually get over 21.

Good Luck S with your Final tomorrow, just think a whole weekend at home, only 23 days till I go home and 28 till my mouth is free.

Ok I should try and sleep seeing as I didn't get to bed until 4am today

Wednesday, January 28, 2004

test

this is just a test I want to see if it works

Tuesday, January 27, 2004

Ahhh Food

it's amazing the craziness that people do when trying to get onto the provigo bus. by now you might think they could get into a line. nope.

but we got there none the less. but I did get a lot of great stuff for my seminar. Lots of McCain things, so I it should be good. If there are any left overs I shall bring them back.

It is still hard to talk, I might as well just be a mime.

Other than that another uneventful day ;)

back to school notes

oh its still cold as heck out there

Monday, January 26, 2004

"Why Does it always rain on me?

Is it because I lied when I was 17? "- Travis. I was just re listening to an old CD from HS. It's nice to be reaquanted to your memories from days gone by.
What a weekend was had. Junk Fest 2004 was a Major success, i dont think we could have eaten any more, I am now just hungry. It was really great of Angela for having us over. What a nice change it was, and we went to the Casio de Montreal, which I have never been to before and had my all time fav thing, BRUNCH BUFFET....mmmmmm talk about good food. And then we got a drive back from Ange's Dad, so no bus, ohh and I forgot to mention Micky D's for dinner, mmmm some times I just crave a Big mac. However I might go back and get the Happy Meal as it was Play Dough and Lilo and Stich. Talk about a good movie.

Things downtown were great today, I went into Winners and just looked arround, I really like the new suits at Jacob. Might now have to get some later on if I do that teach.ca thing, Ms. Dunn-FLanagan, but the kids could call me Ms DF.

Talk about COLD still, and I have a killer sore throat, as well as a well too many canker sores, so if I sounds funny, it's bc it just hurts to talk right now, I am not pissed off at ya. ;)

I am getting really excited about this whole teach thing, oh so there are some pictures that I am trying to up load so there should be a link up soon (fingers crossed)

To Teach or not to Teach that is the question

Steph has shown me an interesting web site about getting your teachers degree abroad in ENGLAND amoung other places. Check the site out here the thing is I'm not too sure about the whole thing, it just might be my wanting to go over there, why this obsession with that country (lets face it, that is what it is) I have no idea,
THere for my question for you, mu loyal blog readers, could you picture me as a teacher? Do you think you could teach?

I'm Cold, So very Cold

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNON -- The Big 21, going on 3 tee hee. Had a lot of fun last night, but we always seem to have fun on your birthday!! (even tho it always seems to be the coldest day of the year!!)

Today I had an FSA meeting, enough said, I wasn't quite awake and well it shall get better I know it will, we all seem to be dedicated people, all working for the same goal, promoting Food Science.

As for the cold, its frickin freezzzzzing out there, with the wind it's going to be -41 degrees C. That means many layers of clothes to stay warm downtown.

Classes are going well, I think we have all survived the last Thursday night exhibition, hopefully we wont have a repeat of that ever AGAIN.

The video shall never be leaked I think, hwever I must agree with Jen, my whistling is very funny.

I amaze myself some times.

So stay warm out there people

Back to School

That's right, school is now in session, I just thought there should be a little update.
Classes are going well, I am getting really good at tapping out the beat.
One day till ALIAS can't wait
Thursday, we'll I guess deep down I am bipolar, those of you who know what I mean know what i mean.
I spent the morning doing my dishes today, I figure that since they have been in my locker for most of the month not being used, I should give them all a good wash. Start the year clean!!

I have to go bring S back the A section

Well tonight is my last night home for a little while, we leave tomorrow and will hopefully have clear roads all the way to the island.
There is so much that I still have to get done, and to top it all off, the Boss is taking all of the PPTC (Potato Processing Technology Center) out for dinner at the swanky Sheriff Winslow house, I plan on getting the steak, mmmm should be good, I can't wait, from now untill 6 I shall not eat as to have maximum eatage tonight, is eatage even a word I wonder?

I also still have to pack, and then thankfully I dont have class on Monday untill 2:30 downtown, I can't beleive how nervous I am, I'll be like the country mouse in the city.

Right must go help pack the tree up.
